Discipline Specific Training - Coach Award

The second stage of your journey through the British Canoeing coach award for most people is a discipline Specfic Training. This is where we look at the What and Where of coaching. This is where the coach award gets more discipline and environmentally specific. And we look at how these effect the learning and can be used to greater effect.

White water kayak DST is the course for people who want to teach kayang on moderate white water. We love this course, and our venue allows us to choose from some of the best venues in the country. Looking at how techincal skills and how the environmental constraints effect the learning journey.

The White water canoe DST is for those coaches who want to teach open canoeing on moderate white water. We cober the syllabus fully and more, looking at what is important for learners and coaches in this environment. Being based in north wales, on the banks of the river dee we are blessed with amazing venues to use.

The open Water Canoe DST is aimed for those coaches who want to be able to teach on open waters in moderate condtions. We explore the syllabus in depth, and look at how the environment can really shape the learning, and how to use the environment to best effect .

The sheltered water DST is aimed for those coaches who want to coach canoes and or kayaks on sheltered water. We look at journeying, rescues, skill accquisiton, environment contstraints and session planning. This can be done in canoe, or kayak or both.
